HOME for the Holidays

The day I’ve been waiting for has FINALLY come! The day that the fall semester ends and I get to go home! While my finals technically finished last Thursday, I hung around Loyola going to my internship and doing my take-home finals since Chris didn’t take his last final till this afternoon. Once 4:30pm hit today, we were on the road back to Jersey. Two and a half hours later, we pulled into my driveway and I seriously thought I was going to kiss the pavement (if it wasn’t 20 degrees out, I probably would have). I couldn’t be happier to have a break from all of the work and stress that I’ve been dealing with this semester.

There are so many great things about being home. Spending time with my family, constant snuggles with my puppy, the ability to actually have time to workout and focus on getting my butt back into gear. There’s just no time constraints at home. So care-free!

Right now, I’m too elated to even write a full length post. There will be a Tuesday Morning Reading tomorrow at some point, once I get myself all settled in. But at this moment, there’s a puppy waiting for a belly rub that I am ohh so happy to give!

Sydney!

Syd’s happy to see me!

Thanksgiving break! (FINALLY)

I hope everyone had a happy thanksgiving! Hopefully, everyone enjoyed a nice time with their families and friends and ate more food then your stomaches can handle! I know I did…

Right now, I’m currently back home in Jersey because it’s Thanksgiving Break. AKA the best 5 days of the year. When I head back to school on Sunday, it will be a week of classes, then a week of finals. Basically, life is going to suck once I hit Baltimore Sunday evening.

After a 5 hour drive home on Tuesday evening, I was greeted by a super-happy puppy and the love and warmth of my home. I could not be more in bliss. As much as I love Loyola and my friends (aka my family) there, there is something special about coming home for the holidays. I don’t want to leave.

Syd basically blends into my bed…

One of the best things about being home is the fact that I actually have time to get a workout in every once in awhile, in my home gym! It’s heavenly. I spent a good chunk of time there on Wednesday. I went to the pilates mat class, which ended up being core-based yoga because their was a substitute instructor. Still, it was pretty great. Followed by some core and the Frisky Fall workout routine from Tone It Up, I was set to eat my heart out on Thanksgiving.

Nothing like a good, sweaty workout to make Thanksgiving guilt-free!

This year, Turkey Day was a little different for my family. Usually, our holidays are bustling with babies and all members of our family are there. This year, because of the recent influx of babies being born, it was just my intermediate family and my aunt and uncle. All of the other members stayed at their respective homes with their newborns. It was a different feeling all night. No screaming children, no toys to trip over. While it was definitely a relaxing evening, I didn’t liked it. Our family is defined by the crazy Italian-ness. Thankfully, we’ll all be together again for the Christmas holidays.

All the goodness of a thanksgiving feast! (I ate EVERYTHING)

Now that the holiday is over, it’s back to the reality. The remainder of my weekend will be spent doing homework while drinking copious amounts of homework, spending time with my family and puppy, and missing Chris terribly (how sad is it that we can’t go 5 days without seeing each other?? Ohh the crazy thing called love). As I’m writing this, I am sitting in Barnes and Noble trying to do multiple assignments at once. Kill me now.

I will never understand why teachers leave all the big assignments for the last week of class. Plan these things out please! I have over 40 pages to write and two powerpoint presentations to make, all due before December 9th. It’s going to be a fun week…

Later today or tomorrow, I will be posting about the Holiday Motivational Mail swap I’m running! If you know was motivational mail is and you know you want to participate, fill out this form!

My life from my iPhone

So I know I have been M.I.A after promising that I wouldn’t disappear again. This time, I’m really going to try. Here’s some randooo pictures from my super expensive, high-tech camera (aka my handy dandy iPhone) from the past week or so to keep your eyes occupied while I try to figure out what I’m going to post next. I have a whole list of ideas; I’m just being slightly too lazy to write them. Womp.

Those are some bright blue pants…and some pretty cool lizards on my shoes!

Some bright blue nails to match my pants. Guess minty blue is becoming my summer color. Totally okay with that.

Aren’t I so cool? BBQ with the fam. Casually wearing a bug stopper that typically goes over trays of food as a hat. Definitely starting a trend there.

The new WTC up close and personal. Man, it’s huge. And beyond amazing.

Breakfast: By far the best meal of the day. Look at me being all healthy!

Pretty sunset outside of the gym!

THE ABSOLUTE BEST PIE IN THE WORLD! Links and overall blabbing about it will come shortly 🙂

Casually chilling…you know, the norm.

So I decided it was smart to go for a run along the river the other day. Too bad Mother Nature decided that She wanted to have a downpour while I was miles away from my car…

Repping the good ole’ Loyola Rowing hat during my run (notice how it got sunny right as I was finshing…)

Literally the only one at the gym on a Friday night. Maybe I should have less of a life more often #peaceatlast #nocreepyoldguys

I’ll post again tomorrow! I promise! Shorty will be back in action ASAP. Have a good Friday night!
